At Reading Borough Council, we aim to protect, conserve & attract the widest possible diversity of wildlife to our area by implementing our Biodiversity Action Plan.
This role, based within our Planning Section, will provide specialist advice and support to ensure that nature conservation and biodiversity objectives are achieved through the development control process. You will also work very closely with the Parks & Open Spaces Section in monitoring and implementing the Local BAP and advising on projects which have biodiversity aims and/or implications.
With a degree, or equivalent, in a biological science or related discipline, you should have considerable experience in ecology or a similar area. Membership of the Institute of Biology is also important, together with a knowledge of the Planning process and relevant legislation - including that relating to protected species.
