This project is seeking volunteers for ecological programs that include revegetation activities (e.g. planting and maintaining native plants to reduce erosion and create habitats for birds and other animals) and greenhouse duties (e.g. planting seeds, watering, weeding, maintaining on-site composting facility, etc). Volunteers can also get involved in neighbourhood efforts to promote the use of sustainable practices and environmental education for children and adults. Volunteers work for approximately twenty hours a week (Monday to Friday 8am-12pm). Afternoons and weekends are free for volunteers to hang out on the hammock, relax on the beach, surf, swim, canoe through the mangrove forests, go wilderness hiking, experience local culture, or whatever else interests them.
Volunteers receive free accommodation in a large shared apartment and contribute around £9 per week for communal expenses (i.e. food, drinking water, etc).
