Drive Greener Idle-Free CoordinatorTerm: 11 months/ 59 weeks (May 1, 2009 – Mar 31, 2010) Hours: full time, 35 hours/week Start Date: May 1, 2009 (flexible) Application close date: Mon, April 13, 2009Please submit a cover letter detailing your suitability for this position, and a current resume to: curt@climatechangeconnection.org Job SummaryReporting to the Climate Change Connection Drive Greener project manager, the Drive Greener Idle-Free component coordinator will partner with two other coordinators to deliver on the Drive Greener business plan elements. These three coordinators work as a team to meet defined business plan objectives. Primary areas of responsibility are the coordination of community outreach activities related to the anti-idling initiative elements of the Drive Greener program.Job Duties and Responsibilities1. Community Outreach (in communities throughout Manitoba) · Develop contacts and a partner network within target sectors · Seek display and presentation opportunities · Develop publicity campaigns to promote events · Staff display · Deliver presentations to youth, communities, and the general public (often in rural communities) 2. General Duties · Arrange for delivery of anti-idling signs and information to businesses, schools, and communities throughout Manitoba · Answer public inquires, referrals to and between stakeholders · Research, design and write information pieces on anti-idling topics related to “greener driving” for print and electronic distribution · Contribute to reports to funders · Ensure business plan is met and budgets are followed Job QualificationsThe successful candidate should possess an undergraduate degree in biology/natural science, geography, environmental science, or a related field. The candidate requires previous experience in an environmental field, event coordination and delivery, and outreach education. Must have · ability to work independently & organize their personal workload. · a valid driver’s licence and be prepared to travel to centres in rural Manitoba. This travel may be alone and may involve overnight stays. · excellent oral & written communication skills. · proficiency with computers and computer software packages (Word, Excel), and internet navigation and research.
