SunRun partners with 25 leading local solar installers, who together employ more than 2,500 green-collar workers. In addition, SunRun has raised financing for more than $400 million in solar systems from PG&E Corporation and U.S. Bancorp and $85 million of equity capital from industry-leading venture capital firms Sequoia Capital, Accel Partners and Foundation Capital.

SunRun is building a new channel by working with home improvement retail stores. We need 2-3 District Sales Managers to strengthen and promote our relationships with our retail partners. You’ll be joining a highly-collaborative team that embraces best practices and is focused on having world-class relationships with our retail partners.

The District Sales Manager (DSM) will be an experienced field sales representative with 2-3 years in retail selling or sales management who will be responsible for sales results of SunRun’s solar power service program in an assigned territory. Successful candidates will have a proven sales track record as well as demonstrated organizational and leadership skills within a retail environment. Successful candidates will also demonstrate:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to influence store personnel on SunRun’s strategic sales goals
  • Ability to manage sales teams (internal & external)
  • Adaptability in a dynamic retail environment
  • Solution-based selling skills
  • Development and expansion of a customer base through retail partners
  • Deliver results on time-sensitive projects
  • Pro-actively develop plans to address new challenges and opportunities

Primary Responsibilities:

The DSM must use their influencing skills and work closely with the Store Management, Lead Generators, and other store personnel within the reseller partners’ multiple store locations to execute on SunRun’s sales initiatives, including but not limited to:

  • Growing sales of SunRun’s solar power service program.
  • Ensure that current visual merchandising displays are in place, stocked, and in appealing condition.
  • Reporting business results and trends for the assigned territory
  • Work with store management to develop and maintain a high level of product knowledge of SunRun’s Solar Power Service program, including competitive products.
  • To build, lead, and manage a team of Lead Generators in the store and territory.
  • Establish and maintain an outstanding professional relationship with in-store management.

The District Sales Manager will be an experienced field sales representative with 5-7 years in retail selling who will be responsible for sales of SunRun’s alternative power solutions in an assigned territory. Candidates must demonstrate a proven ability to be successful working in a remote environment, outside of the SunRun’s corporate office. Successful candidates will have a proven sales track record as well as demonstrated organizational and leadership skills within a retail environment.
