Description
We are one of the UK's leading power and gas companies, with lasting commitment to provide sustainable and efficient energy solutions to all, now, and well into the future. We're changing the way that the world generates and uses energy. It is an opportunity for us to make a meaningful contribution to the future wellbeing of our planet and to offer cost effective and sustainable energy solutions to all our businesses and consumers. We're a future focused business that needs forward-thinking and committed people. Our Sustainable Energy Solutions (SES) division is of crucial importance in achieving Government's aims, and the public's requirements, for zero carbon ratings in new buildings by 2016. We need the right people working with us to provide the best solutions to these great challenges.

District Heating & CHP Operations and Maintenance Manager

You'll be planning, managing and optimising the delivery of Operational and Maintenance support to a fleet of District Heating and Energy Generation schemes throughout the UK. Initially you'll do this through establishing a network of ESPs and leading to future in-house activity. An exciting part of your job will be to create a delivery model that gains maximum synergy and commercial value through evaluating partners and suppliers, and in negotiating individual contracts. Another challenge will be to work closely with Retail and the SES Development Team to ensure the effective tendering, design and delivery of the installations.

You'll manage the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) budget for the overall requirements of the fleet of DH & CHP schemes in operation. You'll also develop contractor/partnership strategy to meet short and mid-term requirements, and through detailed discussion and analysis, to assess the suitability of future working partnerships for the company.

In addition to shaping the Operational Team, ensuring it conforms to the agreed strategic plan, you'll also work with product development and sales teams to ensure the creation of O&M products that can be delivered effectively, and at the right price.

Liaising closely with the SES Development Team, you'll help to ensure that O&M requirements are built in to new build design.

Your responsibilities will be extremely varied but will include: cost-efficient delivery by suppliers, ongoing audit of ESPs against KPIs, and the development of an in-house plant efficiency and optimisation team.

You should have proven leadership skills and experience of managing and motivating staff, and strong networking and communication skills.

You should already have O&M experience, and technical knowledge - ideally within the DH & CHP markets.

It would be to your advantage if you already had process management and development experience.

If you'd like to apply for this role, you'll need to have the right to live and work in the UK. You may also need to be available for interview in the UK at short notice, travel costs will be at your own expense.

Your energy shapes the future.
