The Director of Sales Finance has overall responsibility for residential and commercial/government project Finance. This individual possesses expert-level knowledge in solar industry incentives and financing trends and has responsibility to manage relationships and provide analysis to support major business decisions related to market or geographical expansion. The Director of Sales Finance reports to the CFO and closely coordinates efforts with cross-functional internal and external teams.
Responsibilities:
· Develop and manage financial partner initiatives and relationships including: PPA Sponsorships, Bank Lenders, Proprietary finance advisors, tax equity investors, SREC aggregators, and leasing companies.
· Identify incentives and new markets; develop actionable solutions
· Conduct comparative analysis of state and utility incentive programs, and tax, rebate, SREC and incentive guidance;
· Develop proposal tools and client presentations
· Support development and implementation of online/mobile pricing and estimate tools;
· Study market to understand and update company resources/tools affected by changing incentives and rates;
· Manage team of sales finance analyst(s);
· Train commercial sales and proposal teams on analytical tools;
· Present complex utility and financing analyses to clients;
· Work with Legislative team to provide integrated view of policy landscape by sharing information on current and potential incentives and analyze financial impact on new incentives;
· Prepare new market expansion and strategy analysis to executive leadership;
· Work cross-functionally with Sales, Legislative, Engineering and financial partners to identify opportunities and evaluate potential growth markets for further expansion.
Requirements:
· Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting or relevant field required, MBA preferred
· 5-10+ years experience in construction project financing required, solar-specific construction experience preferred;
· Previous investment-banking experience preferred;
· Exceptional financial modeling, research and analytical skills;
· Superb communication skills, team working ability and comfort with making high-stakes business presentations.
