Director of Corporate Relations

 

Ducks Unlimited, Inc., the continent’s leader in waterfowl and wetlands conservation, seeks a Director of Corporate Relations with the following primary responsibilities and duties:

 

• Manage a portfolio of corporate partners and their relationship with Ducks Unlimited, including sponsorships, trademark licensing, affinity marketing, national promotions, and retail relations.
• Identify, cultivate, and solicit new business development opportunities to promote the DU brand, conservation mission, and drive revenue for DU.
• Assist with developing plans to engage and steward  corporate partners to establish long-term partnerships and strengthen existing relationships in the corporate sector to further the goals of DU.
• Create customized proposals to meet both partner objectives and organizational priorities; prepare progress and stewardship reports.
• Support the strategic planning process within the Corporate Relations department to ensure stability and growth.
• Exemplify the Team DU spirit by coordinating with colleagues across the organization to build internal awareness of the corporate program, identify new opportunities, build compelling proposals, execute on new programs, and provide multiple relationship opportunities for corporate partners. 
• Work closely with the DU volunteer leadership to build awareness and support of the various corporate partner programs.

 

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience in business development, sales, and marketing, with an emphasis on brand management and cause related marketing.  Additional qualifications include:

 

• Bachelor’s degree, marketing emphasis preferred
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service, relationship and team building skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of marketing, product development, and distribution
• Commitment to and experience with managing a prospect base, status reports, budgets, and contracts
• Ability to provide leadership and guidance to other fundraising professionals and volunteers
• Computer literacy with a proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, database management programs, and power point
• Highly motivated with the ability to manage a diverse group of projects at the same time
• Sales and marketing experience

 

The successful candidate will be a self starter who has the ability to work independently as well as part of a team and is driven to succeed. Familiarity or experience with brand management, corporate philanthropy, and an interest in outdoor conservation activities are also desired.  The selected candidate should have the desire and ability to travel nationwide.  This position will be based at Ducks Unlimited National Headquarters in Memphis, Tennessee.  This position will report to the Senior Director of Corporate Relations.
