Director Interconnection & Transmission, Wind & Solar, Oregon Area, $145-160k

This leading business in the renewable energy sector currently develops and operates large scale solar and wind projects. They create renewable sources of energy to meet the increasing demand for clean electricity and to address the ever increasing challenges of global warming.

Through partnerships various parties, this business develops projects that are both profitable and sustainable. They are currently pursuing projects in Europe, North America, and South America

Position Overview:

Key responsibilities within this role will be to provide and lead technical support for interconnection requests, review of interconnection studies, and negotiation of interconnection agreements.

Responsibilities:-

• ·         Manage interconnection processes within the wind and solar sector in the USA and Canada
• ·         Negotiate interconnection agreements
• Work with the Development team on site and advise on strategy to secure grid access at lowest cost
• Support due diligence of interconnection and transmission issues related to acquisitions

Education:-

• ·         Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience

Core Requirements:-

• At least 5 years experience in managing electrical transmission and interconnection processes

• Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse range of stakeholders and/or contractors
• Experience in transmission analysis using PSS/E or equivalent, and a working knowledge of electrical transmission system issues including FERC, ISO and RTO transmission and interconnection policies
• Strong negotiation experience

• ·         Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
