The Development Officer is part of a team that ensures the effective implementation of fundraising initiatives to increase the BirdLife Australia's discretionary funding base. This involves: developing potential new sources of funding, assessing supporter gift potential, liaising with supporters including those wishing to make a bequest, coordinating visits to supporters, requests and proposals for donations for specific fundraising priorities, and the ongoing stewardship of supporters. The position is also responsible for maintaining appropriate databases to support effective fundraising, and assisting team members deliver activities related to other fundraising products.
The Development Officer supports the Development Manager and team to grow donor income streams and build, nurture and maintain key supporter and philanthropic relationships for BirdLife Australia.
Tenure: This is a full time ongoing position offered on a 1-year renewable contract. Location: The position is based at BirdLife Australia National Office in Carlton, Melbourne. Travel Requirements: Travel within Australia may be required on occasion.
