The Role

An opportunity has become available within Wind Prospect CWP for a Development Manager. The role will be to project manage the development of onshore wind farm projects in New South Wales, and co-ordinate the support of other team members that will be assisting with development projects. The role includes:

  • Planning applications
    • Prepare, and oversee the preparation of, planning applications
    • Assess the complexity and EA requirements of applications
    • Minimise project delivery time where possible
    • Participate in Planning Appeals if necessary 
  • Environmental Assessment
    • Work with stakeholders to minimise constraints and maximise delivery of a successful planning application
    • Manage third party consultants in preparation of noise, landscape planning, visual impact and other assessments

 

  • Public Relations
    • Advocate wind energy to councils, councillors, industry and the wider community
    • Organise and hold public events, such as exhibitions and meetings
    • Ensure minimal project disruption from objectors by ensuring information disseminate to local communities
    • Actively communicate with the press and associated media

 

The Candidate

The following are preferable skills and qualifications to be held by candidates:

  • Wind energy or renewable energy background preferable
  • Project Management experience preferable
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build effective working relationships, both internally and externally and ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work with initiative
  • Contribute to the culture of working in partnership and delivering capacity through our quality, pioneering and decisive approach.
  • Engineering, Environmental or Planning degree or equivalent

Ability to travel (including interstate) as required
