My client is a wind farm developer that works across the UK and Ireland on wind farm development. They have expanding portfolio of projects in the onshore wind market and a rapidly expanding team of experts to oversee the development of wind farms under 25MW.

 

Position Overview:

My client requires a developer manager to join their team to lead team of project managers and developers in the initial stages of a wind farm project. This position will report directly into the managing director of the wind company and involved the direct management of a growing team of 10 people. This role will suit a project manager or developer who is looking to move into a senior management roles and their next career move.

 

Responsibilities:

  • ·         Manage your team of project developers and project management through the entire process of developing and constructing the wind project.
  • ·         You will oversee a team of project managers with a pipe line of over 20 onshore wind projects through the planning and development of phase.
  • ·         Managing of a  large team of engineers and technical consultants support across a variety of projects
  • ·         Reporting to the senior management in a timely and effective manner regarding individual wind farm projects and team members
  • ·         Working on a technical level with engineers and technical support in order to oversee the renewable energy project
  • ·         Maintain a high standard in order to maintain the reputation of the company
  • ·         You will liaise with communities and local councils in order to provide informed and technical knowledge on the wind farm projects ensuring that they have a complete and thorough understanding of the process

 

Education:

You will have a relevant degree in mechanical, electrical or civil engineering or environmental management

 

Core Requirements:

  • ·         3-6 years working in the onshore wind market
  • ·         Experience working with and liaising and negotiating with a variety of customers and investors involved in the projects
  • ·         Excellent skills working in a senior management position preferably within the renewable energy sector
  • ·         Strong level of ambition in a desire to progress within a role
  • ·         A strong commercial background and a desire to advance this skill set

 

General requirements

  • ·         Strong experience in feasibility studies, EIA and renewable energy policy
  • ·         A technical background working on wind farm projects
  • ·         Excellent communication, written and presentation skills
  • ·         The ability to travel internationally
  • ·         A keen interest in the  wind market and a desire to be part of its development in the UK

 

Key Skills:-

EIA, feasibility and pre-feasibility study experience and on shore wind experience, project planning, director, project manager and development.
