Normal minimum hours of attendance for the post are 36 hours per week over a 5-day period, Monday to Friday. Flexi time is available. This post may also be suitable for job share. Annual Leave: The annual leave allowance is 25 days per year, rising to 30 days per year after 5 years service. There are also 12 days public and privilege leave. Short Summary: Hybrid working (including Work from Home*), 25 to 30 days annual leave + 12 privilege days, Full Civil Service Pension and benefits.The role will involve having a good, broad understanding of JNCC’s work and particularly being able to integrate data protection with a broader business understanding. Managing a small team of data specialists, the postholder will assist the Team Leaders and Director in delivering Data Protection responsibilities for JNCC as well as helping to develop Information Management strategy. Liaising with the Defra Data Protection Officer (DPO), the role involves a high degree of responsibility and autonomy. The postholder will be expected to quickly obtain the information needed and provide high quality advice and guidance as efficiently and effectively as possible working with colleagues at all levels across JNCC. The Digital and Data Solutions team is responsible for delivering a diverse portfolio of projects within JNCC. Responsible for the technical underpinnings behind JNCCs work, the team also provides innovative approaches to data, information management, and systems delivery. Projects are cross-cutting, and the post holder will work collaboratively within JNCC and with external partners to deliver good data protection and information management processes. Expertise and experience in data protection would be helpful but evidence of transferable skills but training, support and advice will be available. The successful candidate would be expected to take, and pass, the General practitioner certificate in data protection within six months of appointment.
