Are you interested in helping to develop national decision support tools for prioritising resource allocation to New Zealand’s threatened species and ecosystems? We have a two year position for a Data Analyst, working in a small team, developing prioritisation tools for our Natural Heritage work. The focus of the Data Analyst role will primarily be in the Ecosystems Prioritisation area, but will also include Threatened Species Prioritisation project work. You will be responsible for organising and running data collation requirements for the project, and will work with the Project Leader in designing efficient management of this process. This is challenging development work, and will require a person who enjoys, and is excited by, the idea of being able to help find a way through a sometimes complex web of technical detail, multiple objectives, uncertainty and differences in views, and can retain their sense of humour at the same time! There will be some travel within New Zealand to meet with experts during periods of product build and testing. For further information please contact Margaret McTainsh, telephone (03) 378 9564. All applicants must have NZ citizenship or permanent residency. For an application pack, contact Margaret McTainsh, mmctainsh@doc.govt.nz, or the Ecosystems and Species Unit, telephone (03) 378 9564, quoting Vacancy 50/719T. Applications close in the Ecosystems and Species Unit at Noon on Monday, 22 September 2008. |
