Country Manager (Solar PV), Italy

My client is amongst the top five leading solar PV manufacturers and are leader in the growing renewable energy market globally. They are collaborating with a developer in the Italian market and plan to develop, construct, operate and maintain large number of solar PV projects throughout Italy and around Europe. They have subsidiaries throughout Europe, USA and the Asia-pacific region so are a well recognized name in the photovoltaic industry. Having recently completed this Joint-venture are now looking for a senior-level individual who throughout their career has shown a strong capability of business planning, project financing, business development, purchase contracts and international partnerships negotiations. The successful candidate should also have a proven track record in the solar PV space which separates them from other senior-level candidates in the market. As my client are well established in the market and have strong backing, this is an opportunity for some who is looking for a platform in the solar PV project development space to take their  career to the next level.

Responsibilities:-

• Full responsibility of the commercial, technical and organisational interests on site
• Supervise and oversee of all matters on the commercial side
• Support for projects in the project development phase
• Act as a go-between and find appropriate local partners( technicians, engineers, building planners, HSE officers etc.)
• Coordinate project developers in all aspects of the building approval process
• Liaise with onsite project developers to ensure punctual completion of solar projects
• Overseeing the entire operation, business management, planning, invoicing, parts procurement and managing the warehouse
• Maintaining and developing existing and new clients and fostering effective relationships with key stake-holders and decision makers
• Provide leadership to the managers of all departments including finance, HR, business development, operations and IT whilst  maintaining focus on the company’s strategic goals
• Direct the support services department’s activities to achieve the objectives established in the company’s Strategic Plan
• Develop and/or maintain and improve business relations with all existing and potential customers of the company.

Requirements:-

• At least 4-5 years work experience in the solar photovoltaic industry with a proven track record and a total of over 10 years management experience.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Experience in the financial services industry or a private equity background is desirable.
• Must have a strong understanding of technical matters, the ability to think in economic perspective and experience of project development.
• Ideal candidate will have an MBA(Business Studies, Economics, Finance or Business Administration)
• Must have excellent (spoken, written and reading) Italian and English language skills( German, French or Spanish Desirable)
• Excellent problem solving skills
