As a Consumer Marketing Content Specialist at Opower, you will play a key role in developing and managing our communications to help utility consumers reduce their energy use.
You will support innovations, drumming up creative solutions and smart communications to supercharge behavioral change in millions of households around the world. You will also keep the cogs turning by handling the day to day creation and management of marketing messages for multiple consumer channels.

Responsibilities

  • Create marketing messages, content, and campaigns, supporting graphic design as well as writing copy
  • Coordinate with client managers and technical operations to get marketing material approved and implemented for successful client programs
  • Continuously discover new creative and fun marketing opportunities, finding inspirations everywhere
  • Manage all design assets from mail inserts to marketing messages to online promotions
  • Work within our current content creation process while streamlining the coordination of multiple teams with many moving parts
  • Assist in developing a consistent voice across marketing channels by balancing our creative tone with the education and polite tone of our clients.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree with proven record of academic success, plus extracurriculars (President of the Glee Fan Club? We want to hear about it!)
  • 1-3 years of post-collegiate work experience
  • You probably have a nifty blog and lots of Twitter followers. You have experience captivating audiences and can whip up catchy copy for work or play.
  • Tech-savvy, knows or is very comfortable learning graphic and software tools such as Adobe Illustrator and HTML
  • Great teammate -- you take more pride in assists than points and go out of the way to support others in promoting communal success. You're Chris Paul, not Kobe Bryant.
  • Great attention to detail. Your eye catches minor errors like misplaced commas or typos (you're a ninja proof reader).
  • Self-starter, rockstar who thrives in a minimal hand-holding, fast-paced, informal environment where constant change is the norm and the bar for delivering results is high.
