Are you and sustainability consultant with an entrepreneurial streak?

We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate Senior Consultant/ Manager who understands business and understands sustainability. You will join our client’s team and really help shape the next phase of their growth. You’ll seek out new clients and projects, own and manage projects for their diverse range of clients. You will have responsibility for project budgets and client relationships. You’ll work with the team to develop new services and you’ll help grow our client’s reputation and network.

Their work includes carbon, energy, reporting, sustainability, communications, supply chain and staff communications. 

As a key member of their growing team you’ll put your ideas into action and truly see your influence on the future of the business. You will be expected to help shape the direction of the business. You’ll get training, development opportunities and support to get relevant industry qualifications. The package includes personal and business performance bonuses and a chance to take an equity stake in the business.

An effective team player with an ability to work with clients at an executive level, you are  currently working in an environmental or sustainability consultancy and have several years experience of energy, carbon or sustainability consulting along with project and client sales experience. You like a challenge and want an opportunity to personally make a difference for their clients and the business as a whole. You have strong communication skills both written and in presentations. The successful candidate will have at least a 2.1 from a respected university.

Overview

Reporting to the Managing Director and with full responsibility for the delivery of our client work the Consulting Director will help us take our client relationships and team organisation to the next level. Success in the post will mean a well organised delivery team; high quality, on time, on budget project delivery; great client satisfaction and high levels of resold work to existing clients. The post holder will be the no.2 in the business and will be expected to have a significant impact on our future commercial direction. 

Key responsibilities

• Responsibilities broadly split as follows: client delivery 80%, business development 20%
• Lead our delivery capability for carbon and sustainability projects
• Management of client projects
• Management of junior consultants and associates
• Management of the development of tools and methodologies
• Management of client relationships, satisfaction and reselling of additional work
• Assist MD with business development, notably resell into active clients
• Deputise for MD
• Building team consulting skill set

Profile

• Min 2.1 from leading university
• 7+ years exp in business consulting probably in a boutique consultancy
• Several years of solid experience successfully managing consulting teams and client projects
• Track record of business development including proposals and gaining additional work from existing projects
• Would suit generalist consultant at mgr level+ looking to move into sustainability
