Consultant Mechanical Engineer, Scotland

My client is a global engineering consultancy with over 100 offices around the world. They are currently seeking a charted mechanical engineer with a background in renewable energy and power generation to work in the UK. The role requires an experienced mechanical engineer to be part of the team looking after the design and build phase of a number of Renewables test bed facilities. The client would be particularly interested in candidates with experience in hydraulics as this role requires a high level of technical skill. The role also requires an individual who have worked in a multi-contract project environment. This is a contract position lasting 12 months but has potential to lead to other opportunities within the firm.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Writing project specifications.
• Reviewing tenders put forward for the project by different bidders
• Reviewing the on-going technical side of the contract
• Overseeing the overall design process of the test bed facilities
• Ensuring that the design proposals suit the specifications set out at the start of the project.

Requirements:

• MSc in Mechanical engineering
• Chartered Status in Mechanical  engineering
• Ambitious individual with experience in working on multiple large projects
• Experience in power generation processes, especially within the design sector
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
