Consultant for International Climate Related Services
With technical, management and environmental consulting services, Vattenfall Power Consultant covers the entire energy sector from generation and power networks to sales and trading. Being part of the Vattenfall Group, Vattenfall Power Consultant has access to the latest research and development, and truly represents the full extent of the energy sector know-how and expertise.

Vattenfall Power Consultant’s international projects include transmission and distribution, nuclear, hydro, thermal and renewable energy – from special targeted advice to large-scale assignments. We cover the energy sector in a broad sense – by offering advice on renewable energy (hydro, thermal, wind, solar), transmission (HVAC and HVDC), distribution (rural energy services), environmental and social impact assessments, market integration, system stability, economic and financial assessment, as well as greenhouse gas emission reduction projects and climate change policy.

The newly established Climate Department within Vattenfall Power Consultant’s International Business Unit is now looking for dedicated consultants to expand our climate change related services at a global level.

Responsibilities
As a Consultant you will be:

  • Focusing on our climate change related services, particularly greenhouse gas emission reduction projects within the field of the Kyoto Protocol’s flexible mechanisms, primarily the CDM (Clean Development Mechanism).
  • Working closely with our Regional Managers, you will be involved in the full CDM cycle with a particular focus on relevant data collection and CDM eligibility analysis.
  • Responsible for the preparation of Project Design Documents (PDDs) as well as other required documentation, including developing new Methodologies.
  • Supporting our Regional Managers in coordination with our local partners as well as relevant UNFCCC bodies.

A business mindset is required in all our projects. Depending on your previous experience the sector specific and regional focus may vary. Currently we operate in selected countries in the Latin America; Africa; Middle East; Eastern Europe and Asia regions. Main focus areas are within the Electricity Sectors (clean power generation projects); Industrial Sectors (energy efficiency); and Waste Management as it relates to climate change mitigation.

Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with 3-5 years of experience within the carbon market, and with an academic degree corresponding to B.Sc or M.Sc in the field of engineering.  We believe that you have hands-on experience from working with greenhouse gas emission reduction projects and that you have gained a solid understanding of the stringent requirements applied to CDM projects. You need to be fluent in English and knowledge of another language (Spanish, French, Chinese, Arabic) is an asset.

As a person you are customer oriented and a good relationship builder, while also able to work independently. You easily comprehend new information and seek new knowledge for innovative solutions.

Location
The position is located in Stockholm, Sweden. Travels are an integral part of the position.
