Reports to: Head of Conservation and Land Management Salary: £26,407 Hours: 37.5 (Flexible hours) Based: Devizes
Wiltshire Wildlife Trust (WWT) is looking for an experienced and innovative Consultant Ecologist to lead and develop the work undertaken by Chalkhill Environmental Consultants (CEC), a subsidiary company wholly owned by WWT. The Trust is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate team member to take on this important and extremely rewarding role. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing and expanding the services provided by CEC. They will be able to advise clients on key ecological constraints that affect development projects and clearly communicate biodiversity enhancement opportunities. They will have an excellent working knowledge of protected species and habitat surveys, and the ability to compile technically competent reports. They will be able to produce accurate tender documents and have responsibility for preparing and managing budgets. The post holder will have experience of liaising with and advising developers, statutory agencies and local authorities. This role will also provide ecological services and advice to Swindon Borough Council on a contracted basis. There will be requirement to line manage one part time member of staff. A full, clean driving licence is a requirement for this post. Wiltshire Wildlife Trust was set up in 1962 to campaign and take action to protect the natural environment.
