My client is a market leader within the energy market and has an international influence in the sector of wind turbine manufacturing. They are involved in the manufacturing, developing and operations and maintenance of wind farms across Europe, Asia, the USA, South America and Australia.

 

Position Overview:

My client currently require an experienced Construction Specialist to work in the on and offshore wind farm sector developing strategies and policies for the construction of large scale projects. You will be reporting to the director of project ensuring that all projects are being developed in the most effective and efficient manner.

 

Responsibilities:

  • ·         You will take a step back from the hands on project management to oversee the entire construction process for the Australian region developing strategies and company policies for all large scale projects
  • ·         You will be involved in overseeing the commissioning and constructing process of all large scale projects developing strategies relating to their development
  • ·         Providing technical support to engineers and contractors across the wind farm project in order to perform to the highest standard and ensure your growth within the company
  • ·         Performing as a leader and manage teams
  • ·         Liaising with senior project managers and developing strong working relationships within the company
  • ·         Working to the highest standard to promote the company and ensure market recognition and future opportunities within the renewable energy field for the consultancy company
  • ·         Overseeing technical planning, studies and due diligence of proposed or operational wind farms
  • ·         You will be a key player from origination to execution, with opportunities to have control over sourcing and deal making, investment strategy, negotiations and project delivery, policy and project strategies.

 

Education:

You will have a degree in mechanical, electrical or civil engineering along with further qualifications

 

Core Requirements:

  • ·         You will have  15-20 years working in the construction industry is a must
  • ·         At least 1-2 years experience in wind farm project management
  • ·         Experience working with and liaising with a variety of clients and investors involved in the projects
  • ·         5-10 years working in a senior management position preferably within the renewable energy sector
  • ·         You will have demonstrated practical engineering experience on large scale projects
  • ·         You need to have an attention to detail and a mentality to strive for perfection within your workplace

 

General requirements

  • ·         Excellent management skills
  • ·         A technical background working on wind farm projects
  • ·         Excellent communication, written and presentation skills
  • ·         Fluent in English (written and verbal)
  • ·         A keen interest in the wind market and a desire to see it progress and be part of its development in Australia
  • ·         An ability to travel across Australia and New Zeland to various projects

 

Key skills

Onshore and Offshore wind farm projects experience, construction management, technical knowledge and long term desire to work in the renewable energy market, strategy, policy and wind project management.
