Description

To initiate a study into the decline of the Herring Gull population in England. The post-holder will document population and productivity trends at English and UK Herring Gull colonies using existing data, and carry out fieldwork at selected colonies. Responsibilities will include liaison with reserve managers to establish a network of key sites and ensure collection of data on key demographic and habitat parameters. Applicants should hold a PhD in ecology (or equivalent experience); have good communication and fieldwork skills, experience of multivariate statistical analysis and a track-record of scientific publication. BTO ringing licence desirable.
