Description

My client is a global leader within the wind manufacturing sector, delivering services world wide for market leading developers, manufacturers, consultants and operators. They are looking to recruit a Condition Monitoring Engineer to work with the existing engineering team for offshore wind projects.

 

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Senior Reliability Engineer, the Condition Monitoring Engineer will provide engineering recommendations to the O&M Managers (in report format) based on the review and analysis of condition monitoring systems.

 

Responsibilities:-

  • ·         Conduct engineering surveys and studies
  • ·         Provide recommendations on further site inspections and operating restrictions
  • ·         Develop and maintain engineering recommendation procedures and templates in relation to CMS
  • ·         Develop and maintain on-site inspection and preventive maintenance procedures
  • ·         Manage engineering requirements for new CMS installations
  • ·         Give input to the  operations and maintenance strategies
  • ·         Review new condition monitoring technologies of interest for operational wind farms

 

Education:-

  • ·         Must have a strong academic background with a degree in Engineering (electrical, mechanical, civil) or a related discipline.

 

Core Requirements:-

  • ·         Must have at least 3 years of design or construction experience in structural, electrical, wind or marine engineering
  • ·         Thorough knowledge and understanding of vibration analysis theory preferably through a Degree in mechanical engineering - any vibration analysis accreditation would be an advantage
  • ·         Technical knowledge and understanding of rotating equipment such as gearboxes and generators
  • ·         Relevant experience in vibration condition monitoring preferably with some on-site experience desirable
  • ·         The ability to use condition monitoring tools such as offline vibration data logger, endoscope, etc would be an advantage
  • ·         Good communication and interpersonal skills and ability to interface with site and operations and maintenance staff is essential

 

General Requirements:-

 

  • ·         Ability to travel
  • ·         Ability to work alone as well as part of a team
  • ·         The ability to manage workload and meet demanding timescales on a number of projects simultaneously

 

Key Skills:-

Wind, wind turbines, mechanical or electrical or civil engineering, wind turbine maintenance, due-diligence
