Description

As part of the Bicester Healthy New Town Team you will take the lead in developing and delivering active travel initiatives for Bicester. Your role will include working with developers to ensure the implementation of their travel plans, working with existing schools and businesses to develop and implement travel plans, working with the community and voluntary sector groups to support active travel particularly to improve health. In addition you will deliver projects to support the uptake of walking and cycling within the town. The role will include seeking funding to increase the support available for active travel.

The Person:

We are seeking an experienced, creative and engaging travel planner to work with the local community and businesses to promote active travel. You will need to be an excellent communicator, have experience of delivering projects and be able to work both alone and as part of a team to deliver results. Knowledge of the benefits for health of activity and working with the community will be an advantage. You will need to be organized and able to keep accurate records and prepare reports. The post may require some work outside normal hours including evenings and weekends.
