The Position:
The successful candidate will work closely with the Associate Director and staff of the Sustainable Communities Program to advance the development of more sustainable communities in Canada. The work of the successful candidate will focus on:
- Supporting energy and greenhouse gas planning with Canadian municipalities and First Nations
- Supporting the advancement of provincial and national energy efficiency and renewable energy policies as they apply to local communities
Specifically, you will be responsible for:
- Completing community energy and emissions inventories
- Assisting in the completion of technical, financial and policy analysis of energy and emission reduction projects
- Supporting the facilitation of community consultation meetings
- Liaising with client communities and communicating project recommendations
- Performing research on sustainable community development (focused on the built environment)
- Translating and communicating findings at the local level to provincial and federal policy makers
