Job Title: Communication Project Manager

Reports to Communications Development Manager

Job Holder:  

OVERALL PURPOSE·         To project manage communication projects across WSPA and assist with developing Communications guidelines 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:  Communications Project Management·         Oversee the project management of identified communication projects working with the communications team:o        Develop project brief with input from Communications Development Manager, the relevant project and communications specialistso        Work with the Communications Development Manager to create project teams for the delivery of specific projectso        Providing weekly feedback on the status of communication projects.o        Bringing attention to any project slippageo        Keep an overview of any necessary budget expenditureo        Ensure a full evaluation of the project is carried out and lessons learned are carried forward Communication guidelines·         Work with Communications Development Manager to support the development of communication guidelines for all key WSPA work areas. This includes guidance on tone, visual imagery, key messages and Q&A’s. These will be developed in partnership with other relevant teams specifically Programmes, Communications and Fundraising. Communications schedule·         Work with the Communications Development Manager to produce and communicate a detailed 12 month overview of International communication events such as campaign launches, documentaries, and fundraising pushes. Communications strategy ·         Provide support in developing and input into communication strategies for each communication project including identifying appropriate communication channels, developing communication schedules and participants (national offices / member societies). Audience Research

  • Help to research key WSPA audiences international and regionally to help determine most effective communication channels and approach
 Communications/ marketing research
  • Work with the rest of the communications team to keep up to date with the movements, changes and developments in the marketing communications sector

   
QUALIFICATIONS:  Education to degree level in communications, business or relevant field, or demonstrable equivalent work experience. 

EXPERIENCE: Three years experience of project management 

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:  The job holder will be required to have the following skills: ·         The ability to work internationally and in a multi-cultural environment is essential. ·         Excellent presentation skills and written and spoken English. The working language will be English and working knowledge of another language would be beneficial. ·         Understanding of marketing processes and practicalities. ·         Attention to detail and organisational skills.  ·         Ability to build strong relationships with other departments at all levels. ·         Work well within the team environment and be able to work under pressure of deadlines. ·         Desire to 'own' responsibility and obtain satisfaction from successfully completing tasks. ·         Desire to 'pitch in' and work with the team to meet company objectives ·         Good negotiation skills, able to persuade effectively and deliver convincing arguments  ·         IT / computer literate using Microsoft packages e.g. Word, Excel (excellent working knowledge) and PowerPoint  The post requires Willingness to travel internationally (25%), this includes long haul and short haul travel on a planned calendar. Location in London UK
