CDP is a leading international charity that works with business, investors and governments to reduce corporate carbon emissions (which make up 70% of total global emissions) and improve water management. Our unique approach is based on the knowledge that in business, what gets measured gets managed. We now have over 3,000 organizations across 60 countries measuring and disclosing their greenhouse gas emissions and climate change strategies through CDP.
The organization is seeking a full time Communications Executive to work on its communications and public affairs efforts, based at its headquarters in London.
The right candidate will have a minimum of two years experience in PR, corporate communications or investor relations, with public affairs experience a bonus. Reporting to the Communications Director, the Communications Executive will also spend a day a week working with CDP’s Head of Government Relations on public affairs.
This is a unique opportunity to develop skills and experience across communications and public affairs in a dynamic and fast growing business facing charity. The successful candidate will be a self starter with strong interpersonal skills and have a strong track record in and passion for media relations, excellent copy writing skills and lots of ideas.
Main responsibilities
- Helping maximise media coverage of news coming out of CDP and proactively generating new media opportunities
- Developing content for articles, blogs and marketing collateral
- Utilising social media tactics to maximise CDP’s internet presence and reach new audiences
- Contributing to CDP website content
- Coordinating CDP news globally with partners
- Contributing to CDP event management
- Finding new opportunities for speaking platforms, industry awards
- Helping to deliver CDP’s public affairs strategy
The successful candidate will work 5 days per week and must be able to work legally in the UK.
