My client is a leader in the growing renewable energy market globally and they plan and construct turn-key solutions for power plants, with subsidiaries spanning across Europe, USA and the pacific region. They are looking to recruit an experienced project manager in San Diego.
Core Criteria:
The Commercial Project Manager is fully responsible for the oversight and management of the project cycle for Commercial PV projects. They will act as the main interface with the customer to schedule work and coordinate services.
Responsibilities:-
- · Manage the project cycle for Commercial PV Projects
- · Support the design process and permit submittal
- · Oversee all field teams and installation progress
- · Assist the Project manager in defining elements of work and development of subcontracts
- · Support the bid process for subcontracted work
- · Assist Project manager in the development and management project budgets
- · Manage project daily log and timesheets
- · Organize and manage all project data and archive
- · Coordinate the work of subcontractors on site
- · Acquire subcontract labor, materials or equipment to ensure timely completion of the project
- · Conduct site audits for new projects.
Education:-
- · Must have strong engineering background (degree in the area of buildings or architecture or construction, electrical engineering preferred )
Core Requirements:-
- At least 3-5 years relevant work experience in the solar industry with a proven track record in project management
- 5-7 years of construction related experience
- Excellent problem solving skills with a track record of developing solutions for solar projects
- · Experience making day to day decisions at construction site
- · Knowledge of commercial construction including practices and sequence of work
- · In-depth knowledge of commercial PV installations, and wiring configurations
- · Knowledge of construction contracts, subcontracts, and the bid process
- · Basic knowledge of commercial electrical systems
- · Ability to manage budgets and schedules

Key Skills:-
- Solar PV, Engineering Background (degree in the area of buildings or architecture or construction, electrical engineering preferred), solar projects experience, team leadership, 5-7 years of construction related experience
