Commercial Analyst - Wind Direct

Wind Direct install and operate industrial wind turbines that supply low cost, fixed price, green electricity for business and on-site usage - with no capital cost to the client.

Following rapid expansion in the renewable energy industry and the desire for UK businesses to reduce energy costs and become greener, we now have a requirement to grow our construction function.

This is a new role, which offers an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the development of Wind Direct’s ongoing success. PRIMARY OBJECTIVES 
To provide support on commercial aspects of projects throughout the Wind Direct pipeline, with a primary focus on assisting the commercial managers with achieving a swift and efficient financial close.

MAIN FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES 
Economic assessment of project viability 

• Maintain the Wind Direct financial & other economic models 
• Provide assistance to the sales team on bespoke commercial queries 
• Provide economic reviews of projects for the development team

Assist the commercial managers in the in the management of Platinum projects and achievement of financial close, including: 

• Collation & review of cost, income and other data required for the financial model 
• Dissemination of timing and cost information to the rest of the project team to ensure interface consistency 
• Pursuing outstanding work from third parties 
• Obtaining insurance proposals and quotes for the construction, operations and public liability insurance and any other insurance that may be required

To provide workload support to Commercial Managers, including support in the following areas: 

• Negotiation of project agreements with the client and the funder 
• Turbine procurement in tandem with Advisory Services 
• Management of commercial aspects of projects up to operation

Government Policy 

• Keep up to date with the latest developments in renewable energy support initiatives including energy purchasing and trading 
• Disseminate clear, concise updates to the Wind Direct team

General matters will include: 

• Advising on commercial aspects of projects 
• Assisting the sales and development teams on commercial matters 
• Supporting the overall growth of the Wind Direct business 
• Such work as may be requested from time to time in order to support the Wind Direct business
