Description
This posting is for one (1) permanent position and one (1) temporary position up to approximately 11 months.
This position supports the City's Carbon Dioxide Reduction Edmonton (CO2RE) strategy by developing and implementing residential and/or business social marketing outreach and education/training programs, energy efficiency incentive programs and policies to reduce community greenhouse gas emissions. Responsibilities include:
  • Employing the techniques of community-based social marketing to implement action items in the CO2RE Implementation Plan which engage both residents and businesses to reduce community greenhouse gas emissions;
  • Researching, developing, implementing and delivering new outreach and youth education programs;
  • Conducting needs assessments and developing program recommendations;
  • Maintaining and making recommendations for improvement of cornerstone residential outreach programs;
  • Establishing and nurturing community business partnerships;
  • Executing marketing strategies and measuring effectiveness of Carbon Dioxide Reduction Edmonton (CO2RE) residential program marketing;
  • Assisting with marketing strategies, public participation processes, event planning and negotiating with major co-sponsors;
  • Tracking and reporting program performance;
  • Liaising with other City departments to coordinate City efforts in environmental awareness and programs;
  • Performing related functions such as budgeting, negotiating memorandums with incentive program partners and hiring/managing contractors.
