The Bureau of Meteorology is seeking a climatologist for its Victorian Regional Climate Services Centre. The occupant of this position will possess the following skills: • An excellent understanding of meteorology and climate science. • Proficiency in use of computers for data analysis and programming. • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and easily understood manner. • Ability to operate effectively in a client-focused environment. • Ability to work cooperatively and harmoniously in a team environment. • A demonstrated ability to be receptive to new ideas. The occupant will be responsible for the provision of a suite of climate information services and products to the Victoria community and also participate in the climate-based project work and communication and outreach program of the section, including rural visits and media work. The selection process will take place during May, and two weeks specialist training has been scheduled for the successful applicant from 15 June.
