The Center for Clean Air Policy (CCAP) is a nongovernmental nonprofit that promotes ambitious climate action globally. Based in Washington DC with experts in Latin America, Canada, and Europe, we help policy-makers around the world develop, promote, and implement innovative, market-based solutions to major climate problems that balance both environmental and economic interests. CCAP is a collegial, non-hierarchical organization known for its emphasis on cutting edge analyses, productive policy dialogues, and on-the-ground delivery of transformative policy programs and projects. This is a unique opportunity for the right person to make a significant contribution to achieving pragmatic and effective policy change in a variety of policy environments around the world. POSITION DESCRIPTIONCCAP is seeking a proactive, creative policy thinker with outstanding analytic ability, well-developed people skills, and experience developing new project ideas, raising the requisite funds, and managing the successful delivery of work products. The Program Manager will be responsible for managing CCAP’s Climate Finance program, aimed at supporting international institutions, countries, and the private sector to prioritize and scale up low-carbon investments to realize the long-term goals elaborated in the Paris Agreement. This position would play a leading role in developing and implementing programmatic priorities and undertaking the relevant outreach, collaboration, fundraising, and analytical work in support of these initiatives. This position would participate in and make use of key international forums, such as the UNFCCC and the Green Climate Fund, to identify and develop promising opportunities and showcase programmatic results.
Specific responsibilities include:
QUALIFICATIONSThe ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience conducting technical, economic, and policy analyses with a view to designing a comprehensive project proposal or business plan with minimal oversight. In addition, s/he will have an in-depth understanding of current international climate policy issues as well as strong management, analytic, and communication skills.
