Manomet Center for Conservation Sciences (Manomet) is a 40-year old non-profit organization and a leader in the field of conservation biology. Its mission is to conserve natural resources for the benefit of wildlife and humans. Manomet has launched a major new initiative to help wildlife and people mitigate and adapt to a changing climate in North and South America. We are seeking highly motivated candidates to build our core staff and implement our Climate Change Initiative.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Climate Change Scientist will be a full-time, salaried position, reporting to the Director of Manomet’s Climate Change Initiative. This person will be based in Manomet’s Plymouth, MA headquarters. He/she will assist the Director and other Initiative staff in executing analyses, performing day-to-day work on projects, organizing and scheduling project-related meetings, creating and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders and project partners, and writing-up and reporting results. Eventually, he or she will work with stakeholders and funding agencies to help them translate their expectations and needs into sound scientific approaches and plans.

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:
• Undergraduate and Masters degrees in ecology, conservation, environmental science, or environmental policy (or closely related field).

• Excellent writing and communication skills

• Self motivation and creativity to further the agenda of the Climate Change Initiative at Manomet

• Able to build relationships and work extremely well with diverse stakeholders and interest groups

• Preferably, at least 5 years of work experience
