Aberystwyth, although other locations in Wales will be considered £26,560 - £33,468 plus benefits (pay award pending)Please note a higher starting salary may be available for a candidate who demonstrates exceptional experience and ability.3 year fixed term appointment with the possibility of extension or conversion to permanencySupporting the work of the Forest Research climate change research programmes, you’ll undertake a range of research, liaison and advisory work concerned with climate change, particularly on adaptation and forest carbon management. You’ll project manage the Forestry Commission Wales part of a European Interreg 4c partnership project, leading the key area of impact of climate change on forest water balances and their management. With an understanding of forestry and climate change issues, you must have a Forestry or Environmental Sciences honours degree and an appropriate higher degree by research, with experience of modelling or model use. You’ll be highly numerate. It would be advantageous to have experience of Forest Hydrology and/or water management issues, relevant practical working experience and a PhD or equivalent. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable. Benefits include a Civil Service Pension or stakeholder pension scheme and annual leave entitlement.
