We are looking for a Climate Change Programme & Partnership Manager who will lead the council’s work on achieving our net-zero goals. This is a critical role working on some of our most high profile activities and with responsibility for delivery of an ambitious capital programme. About the role The role leads the energy and climate change teams, which together lead our work to minimise our carbon emissions, reduce energy usage and deliver the range of actions within the Climate Change and Air Quality Strategy. This includes a range of nature-based solutions to climate change such as supporting various tree planting initiatives. Other current work includes:
Any-Desk: As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements*. *subject to current Government Covid-19 Guidance About you You’ll have expert knowledge of climate change and energy management issues and able to resolve escalated issues from within the team. You’ll be confident in managing a team working across a range of strategic and complex issues, as well as resolving matters of detail on individual queries and issues. You’ll be experienced in working with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, able to encourage and support action from others. You will also be experienced in managing capital and revenue budgets and have a track record of successful delivery of projects and programme.
