Climate Change Policy Specialist – Principal ConsultantReference: BNB 311

Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 dependent on experience + excellent benefits

Location: Oxfordshire, London, Ayrshire, Cheshire, Glamorgan, Agile

The policy support group brings together expertise from a wide range of policy areas including air quality, climate change, energy security, sustainability and transport.  Our main role is to help our public-sector customers to develop, implement and evaluate policies at local, national and international levels.  We also use this experience to advise private-sector customers on the likely impact of policy and regulation. 

 Role purpose: Working in conjunction with the Technical Business Manager for the climate change policy area, this role will involve leading policy related sales activities and projects in climate change and energy policy. 

·         Develop and deliver policy projects within the Climate Change area

·         Develop business opportunities

·         Lead complex proposals to UK and International customers

·         Lead successful project teams

·         Develop a network of public sector contacts and build upon these relationships to increase business

·         Provide mentoring for other team members, to enable them to develop their technical, business development and project management skills further

 

  The ideal candidate will have:  

·         Experience of policy consultancy or policy delivery within the public sector environment

·         Previous experience of winning and delivering projects

·         Previous experience of leading project teams 

·         Project management – managing complex projects and proposals 

·          Expertise in using policy analysis tools such as cost benefit analysis and multi-criteria analysis

·         Expertise in policy evaluation using quantitative and qualitative techniques

·         Experience of policy analysis and appraisal, specifically focused on environmental issues.

·         Use of carbon footprinting tools and techniques

·         Knowledge of key policy issues in the climate change area at EU or UK level

·         Knowledge of climate change mitigation technologies and/or adaptation options
