Climate Change Manager, Consultancy

Working from the CBD, this well-known international consultancy is seeking an experienced Climate Change Manager for an immediate start.

Reporting to Director level, the role will involve managing a small but highly productive team focusing on local, national and international projects. The main focus of the role will be centered on: Greenhouse Advisory services, emissions inventory (carbon accounting work and verification) and emission reduction advice.

The Climate Change group is in its infancy and requires a motivated and experienced Manager to leverage off the success of the core business groups. A background in Engineering or Science would be desirable as would Masters or doctorate-level study in an appropriate area.

The ideal person will have:

•    10+ years experience in greenhouse gas management and climate, including project management
•    A demonstrated commitment to sustainable development
•    A willingness to work across a range of sectors
•    Knowledge of current and emerging international, national and state greenhouse gas legislation, regulation and policy including:
•    NGERS and the CPRS
•    NSW Greenhouse Gas Reduction Scheme
•    Understanding of the CDM
•    Development of greenhouse gas inventory, management strategies, and monitoring plans, including LCA
•    Familiarity with a range of greenhouse gas abatement options and offsets available across a range of industry sectors
•    Greenhouse gas verification under the Greenhouse Challenge Plus program
•    Understanding of climate change impact assessment and adaptation options across a range of sectors
•    Experience with corporate reporting, including greenhouse gases.

A senior role will be offered to the successful incumbent offering the opportunity for significant promotion leading towards directorship and equity share. Salary will be commensurate with experience in the vicinity of $140k+.
