Chief Technical Officer, West California, USA

My client is a manufacturer and developer of high efficiency photovoltaic (PV) cells using crystalline silicon and are establishing manufacturing plants globally. They are currently looking for a CTO to work out of their office in W. California and coordinate the advancement in the cell efficiencies. This is a chance for a highly competent individual to take a pioneering role as a CTO in a rapidly expanding organization with a solid foundation to build the company to be a market leader in solar PV cell efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Run the pilot line and drive advancements in solar cell efficiency
• Take on strategic hires and manage a team of lab technicians efficiently to deadlines specified
• Use progressive manufacturing photovoltaic processes to advance the efficiency of PV (photovoltaic) cells
• Apply scientific knowledge to innovate and apply advanced concepts such as surface passivation by heterojunctions
• Draw reliable conclusions from project data.
• CTO would be reporting directly to the CEO

Requirements:

• A successful candidate will be educated to MSc or PhD level in materials science, chemical engineering or physics.
• Capable of taking on a leadership position and driving results
• Must have extensive knowledge in handling hazardous gasses such as ammonia and silane
• Will have an understanding of the physics of operation of photovoltaic silicon solar cells and a working knowledge of the technology used to produce them
• Be willing to work out of Western California
• Must be passionate about driving advancements in solar cell efficiency and establishing the company as a Global market leader.
