Description

Eurogroup for Animals is the Brussels based European umbrella advocacy organisation, representing more than 100 national and international members across Europe and beyond.

Eurogroup for Animals aims to drive positive change for animals by convening its members around common goals, and coordinating EU wide action to jointly influence EU law and policy making. Our advocacy work consists of dedicated programmes and a growing portfolio of projects and campaigns.

The objective of the Animals in Science Programme is to accelerate a transition to non-animal research, regulatory testing, and education; and to improve the protection of animals that continue to be used for scientific purposes.

As part of the Animals in Science programme, we are looking for a Chemicals Policy consultant to support our efforts at EU level to facilitate the adoption of non-animal methods under the EU chemicals framework. With the new Commission term just starting, supported by an EU Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability (CCS) still being rolled out, and with the Commission’s decision to develop and implement a chemicals Roadmap to accelerate the phase-out of animal testing, our team is set to continue its diligent work to address priority chemical files, engaging with relevant stakeholders in the EU, as well as ensuring the Commission’s Roadmap is well delivered.

The Chemicals Policy consultant will be responsible for supporting the Animals in Science team with implementing our 2024-2025 strategy to facilitate the adoption of non-animal methods under the EU chemicals framework. The Chemicals Policy consultant will work alongside the Animals in Science Programme team, identifying and advising on specific opportunities to advance the transition to non-animal testing in safety assessments.

Our Animals in Science programme consists of a small yet very dedicated team of professionals who deeply believe in the mission of advancing the transition to non-animal science, and support each other, working collaboratively and continuously offering motivation to enjoy each day of work. We welcome applicants who share this passion and interest in furthering a positive, challenging and forward-looking work environment.
