Chagos Environment Outreach Officer

ZSL Conservation Programmes is looking for an Outreach Officer based at ZSL offices, Regent’s Park who will create, deliver and evaluate a range of activities and training session. The activities will focus on marine/terrestrial ecosystem management, island restoration and marine conservation, with particular reference to the Chagos archipelago. The Outreach Officer’s main responsibilities will be coordinating all aspects of marine awareness days (London and Manchester). These days will deliver activities for a wide range of audiences of the Chagossian community based in the UK. In addition, the Outreach Officer will deliver a training course for adults at a number of locations in London. This course will comprise of theory and practical elements focused on various aspects of marine and terrestrial conservation. The contract is full time and runs for a 1 year period.

The programme will be implemented with a range of partner NGOs, notably the Chagos Conservation Trust, RSPB and the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
