Background: WTI is looking for a sociologist for its conservation and livelihood projects in Vidharbha, Maharashtra. This is a field position, located at Gondia district and requires extensive travelling.
Job Responsibilities:

Point person for the specific field and on-site implementation of the project

Implement and monitor Green livelihood initiatives of WTI at Vidarbha

Network with local NGOs, relevant Government Departments

Report writing and day to day documentation
Skills:
-
In-depth knowledge and experience in participatory conservation, eco-development and alternative livelihood
-
Good understanding of community dynamics and ability to think fast
-
Experience in conducting PRA and in preparing micro-plans will be an advantage

Good at carrying out surveys, organising group meetings and documentation
-
Excellent communication skills, specially with rural/tribal communities

Fluency in Marathi.
Qualifications: A post-graduate degree in a social science discipline such as anthropology, sociology, social work, rural management, political science, human geography or equivalent. Exposure to current debates in wildlife conservation will be an advantage.
Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience, preferably in Maharashtra
