Leading Carbon Fund focusing on CDM and JI projects are looking for a senior Carbon Specialist to help oversee CDM and JI projects through the project lifecycle..

As a key member of the UK team, you will be responsible for technically evaluating from both CDM and JI perspective and developing project opportunities in targeted markets to achieve our business goals. In this role you will lead the processes to technical evaluate opportunities from both CDM and JI perspective and ensure the feasibility of carbon investment projects. You will be responsible for technical evaluations, implantation process to get UNFCCC approval and the overall successful registration and certification of projects working with the team.

Key Role Responsibilities:
Evaluate carbon credit generation projects in developing markets from both CDM and JI perspective
Ability to assess the total business case including regulatory and environmental issues in relevant markets in relation to getting approval through the UNFCCC process
Complete carbon process due diligence assessment on target projects and acquisitions
To plan and manage Carbon projects for the Carbon Solutions business through the UNFCCC Process both at country level and through to the EB of the UN.
To work with a team of project engineers to ensure that carbon projects are approved through the UNFCCC process in a timely and cost effective manner.
To manage ongoing relationships with the relevant regulatory authorities including the UN.
Work with a multi functional team
Ensure all systems, processes and practices are fully compliant with the firm’s governance rules and regulations and meet the regulatory and audit requirements defined by the relevant regulatory bodies and/or local legislation.

Knowledge and Experience
An appropriate 3rd level qualification Business or Engineering or Documentation or equivalent
Minimum of 3-4 years experience in the carbon industry. Ideally with experience of working in Developing markets such as South Africa, South East Asia and/or Middle East
Demonstrable ability to work effectively as part of a team and develop good interpersonal relationships
An effective communicator with leadership skills
Skills/Disposition:
Demonstrated technical development and implementation skills with strong business acumen and a record of delivering innovative and commercially viable projects.
Results driven and target focused.
Excellent influencing and decision making skills
Competent communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and strong team working skills
Proven track record in being able to work in an uncertain business environment where risk management is key.
