North Tyneside Council are looking for casual Education Wardens to help deliver activities in public parks as part of the Outdoor Learning and Environmental Education Service. Education Wardens will be responsible to the Senior Education Warden and will be required to assist with the planning and delivery of the education programme at the Rising Sun Country Park, Wallsend Parks, Northumberland Park and other parks within North Tyneside. The post involves leading school groups around the sites, assisting with and running activity days and other public events. This is a great opportunity to join the North Tyneside Parks team and to take a leading role in delivering a valued educational resource to schools and organisations from around the North East. The Outdoor Learning and Environmental Education Service deliver educational visits and events to around 7,000 children and adults per year. Experience of working with children and young people in the outdoor environment is essential. You will be motivated, committed to raising environmental awareness and prepared to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions and over rough terrain. There will be evening and weekend work. You should ideally have skills and experience in the following: • Delivering learning plans for outdoor activities that meet the current curriculum. • Health and Safety and Risk Assessments for outdoor learning. • A sound knowledge of British wildlife and environmental issues. • working with children and young people or organised groups in the outdoor environment Please be advised that this position has casual working hours and therefore there are no minimum contracted hours.
