As the Lakeside Care Farm Manager you will have the opportunity to develop a new Care Farm in Wiltshire and create a successful working farm which provides high quality care and meaningful learning and activity for young people with a range of abilities. You will have a background of working with young people with special needs and a clear understanding of special needs education as well as experience of ‘working the land’. In your new role you will be ‘the farmer’ and have oversight of all aspects of both the farming and education activities taking place. Although the development of Lakeside Care Farm is a new venture for Wiltshire Wildlife Trust, the Trust has vast experience of training, conservation and farming which you will be able to draw upon. The groundwork for the farm is already being created but you will bring knowledge and expertise to shape everything from the farm layout to the development of a meaningful programme for future clients. To be successful you will be an excellent communicator who is able to share the vision of the Care Farm with possible new clients and partners. You will be able to manage, lead and enthuse your staff team to ensure that the quality of care, learning and delivery is of the highest standard. To achieve this you will also have the support of the Head of Business Development and Community Engagement and the Care Farm advisory group. This is an exciting new development for the Trust and if successful could be expanded to other suitable Trust sites as well as being a unique model within the Wildlife Trusts movement which could inspire other Trusts to develop their own Care Farms. This is a full time post with some occasional evening or weekend work required. Closing Date: Close of play Monday 28 March, 2016. Successful candidates will be notified by 5pm on Wednesday 6 April, 2016. If you have not heard from us by this time then unfortunately you will have been unsuccessful. It is not our policy to give feedback at this stage. Interview Date: Wednesday 13 April, 2016. Please ensure when applying for this position, that you can be available for interview on this date. For an informal discussion about the role please contact Damian Haasjes on 01380 736096. The Trust requires candidates to complete our application form to be considered for employment.
