Carbon Procurement Specialist, Southeast England

My client is a leading environmental agency in the UK with influential status in environmental government policy decisions. They are keen to hire a carbon procurement specialist to manage this area of their business. This is a key hire for the company and as such the role carries high levels of managerial responsibilities as well as the opportunity to quickly progress into senior management. My client is keen to see candidates with a proven track record in carbon trading or procurement with excellent strategising and management skills. The ideal candidate will be reporting into the managing director of the firm on a regular basis on the development of the procurement team as well as market trends that will shape future growth strategies for the company.

This role will suit an ambitious yet technically gifted carbon expert who can manage the growth of an exciting team of carbon procurement specialists.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Managing a team of junior carbon procurers in
• Working with senior management team to explore new markets
• Main point of contact for policy team regarding carbon market trends
• Developing  a strategy for the expansion of the procurement team
• Managing Carbon Credit accounts
• Using cash flow implications to strategise accounts development

Requirements:

• 3 + years in carbon procurement
• Carbon policy related qualifications/ degree
• Proven track record of team management in the carbon space
• Ability to work in an intellectual yet fast paced environment
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
