Responsibilities: Provide written research on emissions-trading markets, project-based carbon offset markets, the impact of policy on trading behaviour, incorporating an economics-based analysis of national and international regulations. Provide forward-looking analysis of market developments, supply and demand factors and deliver sought-after carbon trading strategies. The position will also require you to provide effective client and media interaction, as the firm is often asked for its views on the emissions markets.
Desired Qualifications: Minimum Master’s degree-level qualifications in Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Environmental Markets/Policy or related subjects. Familiarity with the working Emission Trading Mechanisms such as EU ETS, RGGI or UNFCCC project based mechanism such as the CDM & JI is required. Exposure to international/regional carbon markets and federal legislative issues would desirable. Strong statistical and analytical skills. Awareness and understanding of energy markets and market behaviours; Ability to interface easily with clients/media. Strong writing and general communication skills, in English required. Added language skills preferred in any of the official UN or European languages desirable.
