The Campaigns Adviser will develop and strengthen networks in the senator’s key portfolios, develop and support community campaigns, and communicate with the electorate and supporters. The person appointed may be required to represent the senator at functions, community meetings and public engagements and will play an integral role in the upcoming election campaign. This position will involve irregular hours and intrastate travel.
 
Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Develop, coordinate and execute the senator’s 2013 election campaign.
  2. Develop contacts in the senator’s portfolios and local community groups and stakeholders.
  3. Develop and support key community campaigns in Tasmania and nationally in portfolio areas.
  4. Identify campaign opportunities that support parliamentary work and parliamentary opportunities that will support ongoing campaigns.
  5. Work with the Media Adviser to develop, produce and distribute campaign materials.
  6. Work with the Media Adviser to generate media on campaign issues.
  7. Work with the Media Adviser to develop the senator’s web and social media presence.
  8. Support the Office Manager to reply to correspondence and other enquiries.
  9. Represent the senator at party meetings, community meetings and public engagements if required.
  10. Other tasks as directed by the senator.

 

A salary within the range $43,942–68,874pa will be determined commensurate with relevant skills and experience. In addition, an allowance in the range $3475–$24,330 is payable in lieu of overtime.
