Campaign Manager, Western Australia Protecting Australia's Nature Program, Pew Charitable Trusts Application Deadline 8 March 2023 The Opportunity An experienced campaign leader and people manager with a track record of success is sought to drive the Pew Charitable Trusts' environmental advocacy in Western Australia. The successful candidate will lead a team that works closely with partner organisations to build campaigns to both Federal and State Governments to secure large scale outcomes. Outcomes include advocating for creation of new protected areas and land restoration programs developed in partnership with Traditional Owners and other land holders; working with Traditional Owners and other partners to secure the protection of the Martuwarra Fitzroy River; and supporting the campaign for a Great Southern Marine Park. The successful candidate will also work as part of Pew's wider team advocating to the Federal Government for protected area, land restoration and river protection outcomes. A strong emphasis will be placed on ensuring benefits for both people and nature; and meaningful engagement with First Nations people. Understanding of Government and ability to activate public and stakeholder support will be important to the success of the role. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced campaign leader to drive multiple iconic campaigns and create meaningful change for people and nature. The position reports to the Project Director, Protecting Australia's Nature, and supervises a campaign team with strengths in communication, stakeholder engagement, government relations and community outreach.
