In the context of the JRC Enlargement & Integration
activities the full integration of candidate countries
into the European Soil Data Centre (ESDAC) is
foreseen. This will include the harmonization and
integration of existing data as well as the collection
of new data according to EU standards. For Iceland
the extension of the LUCAS-Soil exercise to this
country as well as the collection of baseline
information on soil organic carbon and trace
elements are planned.
Selection criteria
The ideal candidate should have a PhD in Soil
Science or related field (or a University degree and 5
years of research experience after the university
degree giving access to doctoral studies).
Experience in the field of Biogeochemistry is
required. Knowledge of Icelandic soil conditions is
essential.
Relevant publications and presentations should be
highlighted.
Language criteria
Good knowledge of spoken and written English is
required. The knowledge of another community
language would be an advantage.
