Employees are expected to work from our office base or at external meetings or events for 1 – 2 days a month as a minimum, this will vary by team and the exact balance will depend on the nature of your role. Short Summary: Post background Business Development are a subdivision of the Finance and Planning Team. Their objectives are to initiate, support, review, challenge and corral all additional income activities to ensure adequate and continued funding to JNCC. The team provides a core role supporting bid activity simultaneous to contract review, provision of formal quotations, initiating and facilitating negotiations, peer review, alongside supporting creative thinking and training initiatives. We search for funding opportunities on behalf of the organisation and act as the main point of contact for students looking for a placement with us. The team requires a full-time O grade member for research, collation and curation of customer information to enable JNCC to maintain more advanced relationships with our funders. JNCC has a need for more income streams from our government customers and thus require resource to manage our tender processes. The new staff member will support the team through performing data extraction and analysis; prepare, collate and report on business performance metrics as part of our routine monthly reporting cycle and learn business development practices. Job descriptionPost Duties Work together with the Business Development Adviser and other Finance and Planning colleagues and the organisation, the post holder’s responsibilities will include but not be limited to: • Support staff across JNCC with bid activity • Administer placements at JNCC (with support from Business Development Adviser and with a view to taking the lead in near future) • Explore/search for funding opportunities on behalf of JNCC and share intel with staff across JNCC • Assist with bid training • Assist with ensuring all new Income has followed the Bid process and is accurately recorded on the Opportunities and Forecast Pipeline • Set up bid champions meetings, maybe take notes and record actions if comfortable after observing/participating in a couple of meetings • Effectively disseminating key information to internal and external stakeholders • Support ad-hoc finance and planning duties • Being responsible for and being proactive in your own personal development, seeking knowledge to help you fulfil your role Person specificationPlease demonstrate in your statement of suitability your reasons for applying.
