My client is a world leading developer within the wind space, with a global reach and an enviable list of clients and projects. They operate offices throughout North America, Asia and Europe and are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join their team in the UK.

Position Overview:

My client is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to play a leading role in their ambitious expansion plans throughout the UK. You will report directly to the Regional Manager, generating new business opportunities with the main manufacturers located in London. You will be splitting your time between sourcing to business whilst managing and maintaining my clients current accounts. The successful candidate will have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, a proven track record in business development and a minimum of 3 years working within the wind industry.

Responsibilities:-

  • ·         Work closely with the regional manager to advance of the existing sales network
  • ·         Proactively source new clients and business opportunities
  • ·         Negotiate terms and conditions with manufacturers, with a full knowledge of the legal requirements within the UK market
  • ·         Ensure all deals meet revenue and margin expectations
  • ·         Selling my clients services to the UK based manufacturers
  • ·         Careful consideration of contracts with regards to cost targets
  • ·         Identification and negotiation new long term contracts, consolidating customers in an increasing business based relationship
  • ·         Use your experience of closing deals with clients and gaining strong connections in the market to develop and grow the business on a regional basis

Education:-

  • ·         A degree in either economics or electrical / mechanical engineering

Core Requirements:-

  • At least 2 years of experience selling into the wind sector
  • Good knowledge of alternative energy solutions and regulatory frame work  
  • Experience of negotiating contracts with international companies
  • ·         Excellent organisational skills
  • ·         Ability to communicate across all levels of an organization
  • ·         A senior level of negotiation and sales skills
  • ·         Strong team communication and analytical skills

General Requirements:-

  • Ability to travel
  • ·         Ability to work under deadline pressure and deliver high quality results
